Content warnings: https://app。thestorygraph。com/reviews。。。Consider if you like:Deku from My Hero AcademiaSanta Clarita Diet TV showChildhood best friendsDark topics mixed with lighthearted humorThis was my first manga, and it was more fun than I thought it would be! I chuckled out loud at some of the puns, and once I got to chapter two, I just kept reading because I was intrigued and cared about the characters。 I'm definitely going to continue the series。 Content warnings: https://app。thestorygraph。com/reviews。。。Consider if you like:Deku from My Hero AcademiaSanta Clarita Diet TV showChildhood best friendsDark topics mixed with lighthearted humorThis was my first manga, and it was more fun than I thought it would be! I mean。。。 I'm new to manga and Japanese culture in general, but it has been a long time since a story like this could move me so emotionally。 I laughed, cried, audibly gasped, etc many times。 And after every volume I finish, I am left thinking about it all day, anxious to consume the next one。 It's beautifully done。 I would recommend this to anyone。 I mean。。。 I'm new to manga and Japanese culture in general, but it has been a long time since a story like this could move me so emotionally。 I laughed, cried, audibly gasped, etc many times。 And after every volume I finish, I am left thinking about it all day, anxious to consume the next one。 It's beautifully done。 I would recommend this to anyone。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This review is about the Light novel of the book Tokyo Ghoul but this book also has an animated adaptation and Manga series。 Since this book is relatively short I ll be doing a review for the first season/ Few volumes。 *spoiler warning thoroughly enjoyed this book。 The art in the manga was great and very engaging。 The writer does a good job by sending a message to the reader and how the world isn't just black and white, and how actions and choices have a cause and effect。 Tokyo ghoul was written This review is about the Light novel of the book Tokyo Ghoul but this book also has an animated adaptation and Manga series。 Since this book is relatively short I ll be doing a review for the first season/ Few volumes。 *spoiler warning thoroughly enjoyed this book。 The art in the manga was great and very engaging。 The writer does a good job by sending a message to the reader and how the world isn't just black and white, and how actions and choices have a cause and effect。 Tokyo ghoul was written by Sui Ishida and is fairly violent。 I’d recommend this book to anyone above the age of 15。 This book draws inspiration from the series called Attack on Titan which is easily one of my favorite series of all time and has one of the best looking anime out there。 This is the story of an ordinary college student who is kidnapped by a ghoul, a monster with superhuman power, speed, and powers who only consume human flesh。 As luck will have it, our hero Kaneki winds up in a hospital with these ghouls' organs transplanted into him。 As a cause of this Kaneki becomes half ghoul and half human。 Kaneki questions his morals and has an internal struggle to find his humanity again。 The writing is also a factor。 The writing is great。 I'm just reading the sloppy translation of a LN。 In the original language, it has to be breathtaking。 Kaneki finds comparisons between his own life and the life of the character in the novel he is reading on several occasions。Overall I give this book A 4/5 stars。 It has a good plot and writing style, but some of the scenes and characters' lines feel rushed at some points。 。。。more

I honestly couldn't put this down。 I was up until 11pm finishing it, although I had started it at 10pm。 I read mangas fast。 This manga was amazing- there were plot twists and times where you were just going "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHATTT?" I highly recommend。 I honestly couldn't put this down。 I was up until 11pm finishing it, although I had started it at 10pm。 I read mangas fast。 This manga was amazing- there were plot twists and times where you were just going "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHATTT?" This was a pretty good first volume。 The premise is pretty interesting, and there is alot of psychological aspects to it as well。 Looking forward to learning a little more about this world。

I really like this book and the idea of the main character almost having two completely different worlds in one body。 I liked the concept of what a "ghoul" is and how they are able to live amongst humans as if they are no different than them。 The main character's mindset really helps drive the story forward and I will definitely be continuing this series to see what happens next。 I really like this book and the idea of the main character almost having two completely different worlds in one body。 I liked the concept of what a "ghoul" is and how they are able to live amongst humans as if they are no different than them。 The main character's mindset really helps drive the story forward and I will definitely be continuing this series to see what happens next。 。。。more

So, the whole concept of how Kaneki becomes part ghoul is oh so very contrived。 But looking past that, this is one of my favorite tropes。 Becoming a monster。 And it was really a lot of fun。

I have heard great things about this manga and this book did not disappoint those expectations。 The world is interesting and the progression of a boy becoming a ghoul is very interesting。 Because you see this progression mentally and physically, like one is a human eye and the other is a ghoul eye。 The characters especially MC Kaneki was easy to connect with and made this book so enjoyable。 I highly recommend this manga。

Heidi

I really liked this book it was good。

This book was amazing, we have Ken Kaneki going along his day with his friend and then he meets a girl, a book date but then turns out she is a Ghoul who feeds on humans and she feeds on him and then the thing happens where accident happens, her organs transplant so he becomes a half human half ghoul and thus his struggles begin, not able to eat anything, lust of eating humans, finding coffee, strange encounters with Touka then meeting Nishiki when he goes with his friend Hide, and turns out the This book was amazing, we have Ken Kaneki going along his day with his friend and then he meets a girl, a book date but then turns out she is a Ghoul who feeds on humans and she feeds on him and then the thing happens where accident happens, her organs transplant so he becomes a half human half ghoul and thus his struggles begin, not able to eat anything, lust of eating humans, finding coffee, strange encounters with Touka then meeting Nishiki when he goes with his friend Hide, and turns out the latter is also a ghoul who wants to eat his friend Hide and a battle with him and then some weird "power surgence" and defeating him and then Touka rescuing him and him learning he is changed and he has to adapt to this new world。 This book was awesome and changes a lot of things for the main character Ken and questions whats it like being a ghoul in a world that fears them? Acceptance and moving forward? new mystery and myths? And what are ghouls really? Great start and the art was phenomenal。 。。。more

Great Art。 Good Start。 Decent Message。 A little edgy。 I don't necessarily like how often Kaneki voices his opinions。 I'd like to see more struggle and less whining。 Show don't tell。 Great Art。 Good Start。 Decent Message。 A little edgy。 I don't necessarily like how often Kaneki voices his opinions。 I'd like to see more struggle and less whining。 Show don't tell。 。。。more

**I've watched the first season of the anime adaptation of this。 I don't know how accurate it is, but that may reflect my review and make it biased。**Character 4Now, I know first volumes are a lot of introducing characters so we don't usually have too strong character in these。 Kaneki is such a great main character that I love it。 He tries so hard and is so endearing。 Not to mention Hide not knowing things makes it even better。 Rize was also impactful and she was only there for a short amount of **I've watched the first season of the anime adaptation of this。 I don't know how accurate it is, but that may reflect my review and make it biased。**Character 4Now, I know first volumes are a lot of introducing characters so we don't usually have too strong character in these。 Kaneki is such a great main character that I love it。 He tries so hard and is so endearing。 Not to mention Hide not knowing things makes it even better。 Rize was also impactful and she was only there for a short amount of time。 Setting 3We're in Japan, and we haven't really gotten into ghoul territories, but they've touched on it。 I'm interested to know more。 Plot 3This story so far isn't plot focused, but more character focused at the moment。 Art 4I like this art。 Ishida really captures that horror element of art。 He exaggerates features and makes them look terrifying。 I enjoy how he uses shading sometimes to make the characters just look so haunting。 Dialogue 3It's a lot of explained ghouls and a lot of Kaneki's internal strife。 I do enjoy how Kaneki will quote literature to his situation。 That's a nice touch。Enjoyability 5I really enjoyed this volume! 4。5/5 stars— I LOVE the entire concept of this manga! It is super creative and fun, and I love the characters already! Can’t wait for the rest of the series。

Interesting premise, quite gory and a fun start。 The artwork was quite confusing though, which made it a bit difficult to understand what was going on。
